Workshop: Looking differently at Street Photography.

You've probably walked around a city hundreds of times. Shopping, terraces. You have pictures of the beautiful, old buildings, the park and the pigeons.

People make the city. They give colour to the city. And people are not at all as scary as you think, mind you. Some people wave friendly when you take a photo, or strike up a conversation: "What are you photographing?" Some people are so busy on their phones, or on their way to an appointment, that they haven't even seen you with your camera.

In this workshop, I will teach you to hunt and fish, with an emphasis on the latter. In a "friendly" way. Mindful.

We add the human element for scale or dynamism, but the focus is on capturing the city in all its forms. We will look at framing and capturing movement. And if you have any questions of your own, we will of course address them too!

"My dear friend had gifted me a photography workshop by Michiel as a surprise. What a super experience! Michiel is a tremendously friendly and sincere man who both enjoyed sharing his own knowledge and showed interest in my story and development. The tailor-made and personal approach started already at the introduction with a cup of coffee where we talked about our experiences and goals in photography, why we photographed, but certainly also how to tailor the workshop to my level and needs.

During the workshop, Michiel then turned this into various assignments to match. The atmosphere was relaxed and spontaneous, essential for street photography. Michiel's vision on street photography was refreshing and learning to anticipate street scenarios will definitely stay with me.

Conclusion: Do! Accessible with depth as far as you are willing and able. For me at least, it was a hugely enjoyable and educational experience. Thanks again!"
