Street photography workshops in Ghent (Belgium)

Welcome to Ghent, the city that makes your camera cheer and your creativity dance.

Stroll its cobbled streets and be enchanted by medieval castles, Gothic churches and picturesque canals. Every nook breathes history and asks to be captured. Art galleries, buskers, boutiques and cosy cafes will set the scene for your photos. Every moment is a work of art waiting to be captured!

People in Ghent are colourful and diverse. From students to artists, everyone has a story. Let's capture their smiles, conversations and daily lives during this workshop.

The workshops below are for beginners and people who have had a camera in their hands before. I'm sure I can teach you to see things differently!

I prefer to book a 1-on-1 workshop

"Really took a really fun workshop with Michiel! He knows how to inspire you to roam the city with the camera yourself. I learnt a lot. Now I go out on my own and apply his tips from the workshop and his book!"

Ria Luichies, street photography group workshop participant

Street photography workshop in Ghent

There are countless photogenic spots in the enchanting centre of Ghent. During the workshop, for example, we will visit the Graslei and/or Korenlei. These picturesque quays along the river Leie have come to life like a postcard. The medieval houses with their stepped gables, graceful façades and colourful shutters form a wonderful background for the most beautiful city and street photos. Imagine yourself in medieval Ghent!

Ghent's narrow alleys, bustling squares and colourful markets offer a wealth of photo opportunities. From students cycling along the cobblestones to artists exhibiting their works, every corner tells its own story. You will find a mix of medieval splendour, neo-Gothic buildings and modern architecture in Ghent. The aforementioned Graslei with its historic facades, the imposing St Nicholas Church and the futuristic STAM Museum are just a few examples. We will do our best to see them all.

About Michiel

From the moment I immersed myself in street photography, I was hooked. I don't leave the house without a camera because street photography can be done anywhere!
