Getting stuck: what's next for your website?

You know the drill. After years of doing the same thing, you don't really know what else to do. It could be about anything:

    • If you have all the Suske & Wiskes, there's not much left to save until a new one comes out.
    • If you have all the pokemon cards, and no one at the school (of your children) is still saving them, you are mostly stuck with a box of cards.
    • If you've run the marathon (I wish), then it's wait for the next one or save up for abroad.

In the meantime, all you can do is maintain. And that is exactly what a lot of companies do with their websites.

    MOT for your website

Actually, you should have a periodic check for your website(s). Just sit down with someone with a fresh perspective so you can take the next step.

It's not that simple. Your site builder is really built out at some point, and your search engine specialist also has a certain set of tools he/she can work with.

Perhaps it is time to holistic looking at your website.

    Holistic optimisation

"Holism is a worldview that assumes that everything is related to everything else. The idea is that there is in fact nothing to say about the whole when you only study individual parts of reality. Moreover, the value of the whole is greater than the sum of the parts."

I'm not even talking about search engine optimisation (SEO) or user experience (UX) anymore. It's about optimising all the parts together, constantly prioritising. Maybe a page with certain text is top for SEO, but becomes completely unusable (UX). Not to mention accessibility, because you better Peter for calling. Do hear.
A poorly accessible website will quickly cost you 10% of your visitors, and when you optimise for accessibility, you directly touch on SEO and UX, which also improve as a result.

The value of the whole is greater than the sum of parts. Absolutely. You can't do one and forget the other. If you are serious about your website, you will make sure that everything from design to text, from contact form to image is aligned.

And that's true coaching comes in

Coaching to continuously improve your website

You shouldn't expect your site builder to know all the ins and outs of everything about your website. Let alone apply it. Your budget might not allow for conversion optimisation at all. Maybe you have such a strong idea about what words you want to rank for that your SEO specialist just said "yes". Your (online) marketing team might have been spinning the songs you want for months, but not come up with any new tunes.

As a coach, I teach you to look realistically at your website and the time and effort (or money) you put into it. Are you focusing on the right thing? Or are you needlessly burning money on Google Adwords? Does your website match your company's message?

If you want to look just a little further into the effectiveness of your website and understand what is really happening, then you should especially contact me.
