Photos for your website
You should really update the photos on your website every year. Whether you have new paintings on the wall or a change in staff, a lot has happened over the past twelve months. Your website can reflect that.
There are several good reasons to choose unique, original photos of your business rather than falling back on that one phone snapshot, or worse: stock photos.
5 reasons to have me shoot photos for your website. Having photos made specifically for your website really matters. If you use generic images (or stock photos), your business will come across as generic too. I know from experience that visitors spot those images immediately. They are actually more likely to click back to the search results and keep looking. Here is why:
1. First impression: your website is your shop window
Your website is your shop window in more ways than one. A visitor forms a first impression within seconds. You show what you have to offer, but also who is behind it. The atmosphere of your shop, your office, or your business is reflected in that window.
2. Make it personal
Your website introduces your team and your business in detail. It is often the first point of contact with potential clients! Images make the text more readable and attract exactly the kind of clients you are looking for. Those portrait photos are your marketing.
3. Unique photos strengthen your brand
Original photos made specifically for your business reinforce your brand identity. They set you apart from competitors and create a recognisable visual style. A photo says so much. Do you want something open and light, or something darker, perhaps more industrial? It needs to fit your business.
4. Your prices deserve better than a bad photo
Professional photos convey reliability and professionalism. If that is the impression you want to leave with visitors, do not rely on your nephew who occasionally takes photos at the zoo on a Sunday. Instead, trust a professional photographer who works with you to decide how you want to present yourself online. A good photo is a mark of quality.
5. Better readability for your website
Photos alongside your text make the content more inviting and keep readers on the page longer. They break up all those lines of text in a natural way, help visitors scan the page, and make it easier to hold their attention.
In short: invest in decent photos for your website.
My approach. If you choose me to shoot your photos, we usually start the day with portraits. We do that from 10 o'clock, so everyone has had a chance to read their emails and finish their coffee. A little more awake, and therefore better in front of the camera. The end of the day is less ideal for this, as everyone tends to be a bit more tired by then.
I can shoot in natural light or with flash. Natural light gives the warmest portraits, but depending on the type of photos you have in mind, I can add some fill light or use flash for the whole portrait.
ALEX Advocaten BTS kantoor After the portrait shoot, everyone is used to me being around and you and your colleagues get back to work. Your time investment is done. I carry on a little longer though. While you are working, walking through the office, or even sawing down a tree (depending on the business, of course), I keep shooting from a comfortable distance, making relaxed and mostly unposed images for your website and social media.
Your photo selection
Afterwards, I select the right photos and put them online in an album with basic editing applied. In that album, you can "like" the photos, just as you would on Instagram. I then go through the liked photos carefully and edit them properly. Those are the photos you will ultimately be able to download and use on your website.
You receive all the selected photos for your own use on websites, in brochures, and so on. Straightforward, right?
