A talk on street photography

I am happy to take you through my wanderings as a street photographer in an extensive presentation full of photos. We look at pictures, of course, but I also give you plenty of practical tips.

How a talk works

Count on a presentation of about ninety minutes, and experience shows that the next half hour fills up with questions (during and afterwards) and talking things over. I am very happy to answer them. My passion for street photography lets me take you into that world, and I am certain a few members will pick up their camera the next day and head out. Club members who want to go further after my talk will find other street photographers, the monthly assignment and the agenda at straatfotografie.nl.

It is enormous fun to go through submitted photos after a short break. The group often already has a view on them, which can lead to a good discussion. Everyone looks at street photography differently, and I enjoy sharing my thoughts on your photos in a way that fires people up. I bring my books along, of course, so anyone interested can buy one straight after the talk or during the break.

including VAT and travel

If the journey from Wijchen takes longer than an hour and a half, I charge 50 euro extra. For that 50 euro the club also gets two free copies of my book De Straatfotobijbel (in Dutch) to raffle among the members.

Travel within two hours of Nijmegen is included, with the surcharge above where applicable, and for longer journeys within the Netherlands and Belgium we'll agree the extra travel costs.

TIP

A subsidy is often available through the regional Fotobond for talks by nationally known photographers, as for instance at Fotobond Gelderland-Zuid.

Workshop

A street photography workshop for photo clubs and companies

For your photo club or company I am glad to offer a good discount on my street photography workshops. There is nothing better than heading out as a group in the oldest city in the Netherlands: Nijmegen. I show you the photogenic corners in and around the centre and take you to my favourite spots for street photography. Would you rather head out in your own city? No problem either. Then I put together a workshop made to measure. I have given one in Montfoort (two shopping streets) and in Amsterdam Zuid. There is something to see everywhere.

Certainly when we head out as a group or in small groups, you learn an enormous amount. I send you out with enjoyable assignments to look at the city afresh. The assignment cards you get from me you take home to your own city, of course, to do the workshop again with the club. And if you want to dig deeper into street photography, you can do that on the sofa with my book Straatfotobijbel (in Dutch); a copy for everyone. That way you take a lasting memory along on your own street photography journey.
