What is Streetsessions?
Streetsessions is an email course for photographers who want to look more seriously. Not faster. Not more. Better.
Over six months you get thirteen substantial emails. Not a dry list of assignments, but stories that make you look differently. Every story carries an assignment inside it. Not homework, an invitation.
Halfway through I ask you how it is going. What works, what does not yet. At the end you send me five photographs. I go through them and give you personal feedback.
That is all. No group chat you forget to mute. No fixed moments when you have to be there. You start when you want and work at your own pace.

About Michiel
I am Michiel Heijmans. Portrait photographer, street photographer, author of three photography books and, for more than a hundred episodes now, co-host of the podcast 30 Minuten Sluitertijd.
I run street photography workshops in London, Paris, Antwerp and Utrecht. Five people at most, because any more and you lose the personal contact. That same thinking sits inside Streetsessions.

How does the feedback round work?
At the end of the course you send me five photographs by email. I send you a personal response. No rush, but no waiting for months either.
Do I have to be available at fixed times?
No. The course runs automatically. You decide when you read the emails and go out on the street.
Is this suitable for beginners?
Streetsessions works best if you already have some photographic groundwork. If you do not, you could do one of my workshops first. You do not need hours of street work behind you.
