From the technical and creative sides to legal considerations—each book offers unique insights and practical knowledge for both beginner and advanced photographers.

My work focuses on making street photography accessible as an art form and sharing my years of experience in the field. Whether you’re interested in the philosophy behind observation, the legal frameworks within which you operate, or practical techniques to take your photography to the next level—there’s a specialized resource available for every aspect.

The Observer

The Observer uses images to guide you through the mental aspects of street photography: developing your photographic eye, anticipating moments, reflecting on your role on the street, and creating meaningful images that tell stories about urban life.

My Street Photography Books

Street photography is a fascinating discipline that combines technical skill, legal knowledge, and keen observational skills. Through my experience in the field and teaching photographers, I’ve noticed a need for accessible, Dutch-language resources that cover all aspects of this field.

Each of these publications stands on its own, but together they form a comprehensive curriculum for street photographers. Whether you’re just starting out or have been active for years, there’s always something new to learn about composition, timing, legal frameworks, or the philosophy behind the medium.

The combination of practical guides and in-depth (self-)reflection makes this collection unique in Dutch photography literature. All of the works are based on my practical experience and were written with the aim of helping photographers find their own voice within the genre.
