Antwerp isn't a city that just opens up to you right away. It whispers secrets in its alleys, sparkles along the Scheldt, and if you take your time to look, it'll surprise you with its unexpected beauty.

Antwerp, definitely one of my top cities for street Photography!

The city is packed with photogenic spots, like the Grote Markt, Groenplaats, Vogelenmarkt, and all the little streets around them. You'll find quiet courtyards, and then there's the bustling Meir.

The city has such a diverse vibe, with charming neighborhoods like Zurenborg and Eilandje, plus cool districts like Chinatown. This means tons of opportunities for street Photography, both during and after the workshop. Antwerp mixes historical monuments with modern architecture, which, of course, gives us amazing backdrops for our shots! Basically, Antwerp is a city that's got a whole lot to offer street photographers.

The street Photography workshops below are great for both beginners and those who've already got some camera experience. I'm confident I can teach you to see things in a whole new way!

As a treat for myself, I booked the 1-on-1 street Photography workshop with Michiel Heijmans. Best decision ever!

Street Photography: A Great Place to Start

If you're a photographer wandering through Antwerp, you'll find tons of photogenic spots and subjects everywhere. You can really enjoy the City Park, a beautiful green space right in the city center, where the greenery looks amazing against the surrounding buildings. Then, of course, you'll want to check out the Vogeltjesmarkt, a super colorful market selling fresh produce, flowers, plants, and all sorts of other goodies. You'll blend right into the hustle and bustle there. And just look around: so many photogenic buildings!

Of course, you'll also get to stroll over to the Cathedral of Our Lady, a stunning Gothic church famous for its tall tower and impressive inside. There's plenty to see, and I'll make sure we hit the highlights. We'll wrap up around 1 PM or 2 PM, so you'll have plenty of time to explore on your own after the workshop!

In the workshop, I'll teach you how to 'hunt' and 'fish' for great shots. We'll dive into framing and capturing movement. And hey, if you have your own questions, we'll definitely cover those too!
