Paris is a city that does not pose but breathes; in the soft light along the Seine, in the glances of passers-by, and in the silence between two footsteps, you can sense why people continue to dream here.
Paris is much more than the Eiffel Tower and the Louvre.
I would like to invite you to my photography workshop in Paris this year! Immerse yourself in two days of (street) photography in the cosmopolitan city of Paris!
Paris is flooded with visitors every year because of its iconic monuments, bustling squares, and unmistakable atmosphere. It is a city of contrasts: the refined cafés along the Champs-Élysées contrast with the raw energy of the street performers in Belleville, the tranquil beauty of the Jardin du Luxembourg contrasts with the lively buzz of the Marché Bastille. Here, the light changes with every step—from the soft morning glow on the Seine to the dramatic shadows in the alleys of Le Marais. Paris exudes art, romance, and stories waiting to be captured.
Michielorganizes fantastic street photography workshops. I attended one in London. It was well organized, with beautiful routes through the city, a fun group, a relaxed atmosphere, and lots of inspiration. I will definitely go again. Do it! It's almost addictive.
Paris: a classic experience
Do you love photography and want to take on a new challenge? Would you like to discover a city that will surprise and inspire you? Then my conceptual photography workshop in Paris is just the thing for you!
Paris is the city where classic black-and-white photography comes to life. The timeless charm of the cobbled streets of Montmartre, the elegant silhouettes on the Pont Neuf, and the play of light and shadow in the alleys around the Pantheon evoke the atmosphere of the great masters such as Cartier-Bresson.
The soft Parisian light and unique architecture provide the perfect canvas for contrasting images full of depth and emotion. As a street photographer, I am happy to help you capture these classic moments. With my guidance, you will learn how to use composition, timing, and atmosphere to create images that not only capture the character of Paris, but also help you discover your own black-and-white style.
I have an endless passion for portrait and street photography and a talent for conveying my knowledge and enthusiasm (according to others!). I will guide you to the most interesting and photogenic locations in the city. My goal: to give you all the feedback and advice you need to improve your photos and develop your own style.
Who is this workshop for?
The workshop lasts two days, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., and is suitable and challenging for all levels, from beginners to advanced. All you need is a camera, whether it's an SLR, a system camera, a compact camera, or a smartphone. You will learn how to look at a city differently and create beautiful compositions. You will learn how to best deal with light, shadow, color, movement, and perspective. You will learn how to photograph people without disturbing or offending them.
You will learn how to tell your own story with your photos. You will learn this by doing and by watching me and the others! In addition, I will give you a number of assignments during the day that will force you to look at things differently. These assignments are always very well received because they provide focus. The sum of the assignments will make you look at your surroundings in a better and different way, resulting in more beautiful photos!
Paris? Easy to travel to!
For Dutch participants: Paris is really easy to reach by train. In my experience, it costs between €50 and €150 (one way). That is affordable and sustainable. Prices for hotels vary, and in Paris, prices vary depending on location. I am a fan of the B&B Hotels chain, which is simple but fine, but I can also enjoy a chain like CitizenM. Public transportation is well organized with subways.
Sign up quickly, because places are limited. Don't miss this opportunity to improve and refine your photography skills and discover a unique city. I look forward to seeing you in Paris! 📸
