Learn to observe. Discover stories. And take photos together in a new city.
Two-day photography workshops abroad
A new city opens up everything. Your rhythm changes, you see things differently, you feel more space to play with images. That's what makes a photography workshop abroad so valuable. You're away from home for a while and you immerse yourself in (street) photography, inspiration, light, rhythm, and creativity for two days.
🇫🇷 Paris – June 5 and 6
🇩🇪 Hamburg – August 28 and 29
🇨🇿 Prague – September 25 and 26
🇬🇧 London – November 20 and 21
These trips are for people who enjoy taking photos together. No anonymous large groups where someone always has the loudest voice and demands the most attention, but small, friendly teams who get to know each other while walking through the city. We talk a lot, look a lot, and take even more photos. Everything at a relaxed pace. No stress. Just depth.
And along the way, you notice how quickly you grow. How you become calmer. How your eye becomes sharper. How you begin to recognize your own style. Sometimes even in a single shot.
These two-day trips combine practical experience, enjoyment, and clear assignments that help you see things differently. The approach is similar to my Conceptual Street Photography Workshop, but with the added bonus of a foreign city that magnifies everything: light, color, silence, sound, people. Two days full of input that will stay with you long after you return home.
Why photography abroad works so well
In an unfamiliar city, you immediately step out of your habits, out of your daily routine. You notice things more quickly that you would normally miss. You walk differently. You react differently. And because you have two days, you experiment more and feel less pressure.
You are not focused on performance or competition, but on discovery. And that creates room for growth.
Many participants say the same thing afterwards: "I now look at my favorite city differently. I suddenly see new things again."
That change often begins within the first hour. As soon as you understand how light works in a different city. Or how you pick up on a story that you would normally pass by. It's the magic of being away from your routine.
The cities
Photography workshop in Paris
Paris is elegant, raw, chaotic, and peaceful all at once. It's the perfect city to learn how to see. We work a lot in black and white, searching for light in the city of lights, wandering through small streets and trying to capture that typical Parisian mix of romance and reality.
You will be given assignments that help you build stories, think in scenes, and follow the light. Everything will be done in the style of street photography with a touch of conceptual work, as you know from my Workshop Conceptual Photography on the Street.

Photography workshop in London
London is alive. Always. The pace is faster, the contrasts are stronger, and the streets are full of unexpected moments. That's precisely why London is a great place to train your photographic instincts. You learn to see in chaos, you learn to find peace in busy situations, and you discover how light works differently in a city where changing weather is part of the game.
We work a lot with rhythm, distance, and timing. You will be given assignments that force you to choose frames and read stories in motion.

Photography workshop in Prague
Prague is a photographer's dream. Dark alleys, warm light, old buildings, tranquility, echoes of history. Here we work a lot on graphic composition, rhythm in the street scene, finding light in shady places, and patience.
Prague invites you to linger. To stroll slowly. To take photos that are gentle, yet mysterious.

Photography workshop in Hamburg
Hamburg is different. Tough. Industrial. Water, metal, bridges, lines, ships, colorful graffiti, quiet docks. The city is full of contrasts, making it the perfect place for a photographic quest for both structure and emotion.
We work along the water, in modern neighborhoods, and on quiet squares. This is a workshop where you learn to seek simplicity in hustle and bustle and character in the interplay of lines.

What does a two-day event look like?
We usually start around ten o'clock. Plenty of time to arrive at your leisure.
We walk a lot, but not in a hurry. We stop at moments that are good for talking, looking around, or having a drink. On the first day, we mainly work on the basics, rhythm, and light. On the second day, we dive deeper into stories, series, and personal style.
Every day ends around three o'clock, although we often continue longer. Sometimes because the light is too beautiful, sometimes because conversations arise that you don't want to end.
Ready for Paris, London, Prague, or Hamburg?
“Michielis a very talented and passionate photographer. It was a wonderful experience to accompany him on a trip through London, where we engaged in street photography.
The workshop felt more like a natural collaboration than a purely educational program. I learned more than ever before and found true joy and inspiration during two intensive days. I will definitely join him on more photographic adventures in the future.”
