about my workshops

We start with a short briefing. Then we walk a route. You will receive assignments while we take photos. At the end, we discuss the work and learn from each other. You will receive my detailed input on your photos later by email.

One-day workshops
From 10:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.Two-day workshops
From 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., both days
We usually run a little late because the coffee breaks are so enjoyable; there is often a lot to discuss and many experiences to share. -
Once you know how your camera works, you're ready to go. You learn by doing and by watching.
It really doesn't matter whether you normally work with landscapes, documentary photography, or portraits. This workshop is for everyone, and you're sure to learn something!
Differentiation arises from the way you interpret the assignments, and I am happy to guide you in this. This makes the workshop truly suitable for both advanced and beginner participants.

Well, the weather remains unpredictable, especially in the fall. But in principle, we continue to take photographs. Rain creates images. Umbrellas, reflections. I'll show you how to take advantage of them.
Sunlight presents other challenges, such as backlighting and harsh shadows. So every type of weather has its pros and cons.
Okay, maybe a snowstorm isn't the best weather for photography. But no snowstorm = a workshop!

During the two-day workshops, approximately eight to ten kilometers in five hours. In the one-day workshops, two to three kilometers in three hours. With breaks.
It also depends a little on how much we decide to get lost together and deviate from the route I have planned for us. Good shoes are your best friend.

Of course. We look at what works for each scene. In a color photo, color often plays a leading role, think of places like the exotic market on Theaterplein in Antwerp with lots of bright colors. In a tranquil photo, for example in the suburbs of Paris, black and white can be very effective.

Respect comes first, always. I will teach you how to photograph with confidence in crowded places.
During the workshop, I will of course share all relevant knowledge about the legal aspects of street photography with you.
If you would like to know more about how this is organized in the Netherlands, and take that basis with you to London and other cities, please take a look here.

Yes. Many participants come alone. That works well. You focus more on your own story and easily connect with the group. In my experience, we quickly get used to each other and the fun often takes over. After all, you all have similar challenges!
