A studio full of light, ideas, and conversation
Learn to see, feel, and build with light. My studio in Wijchen is set up for working, but mostly for exploring. We'll start with a chat about what you want to learn or where you're stuck. Then, we'll build up the lighting step by step. Sometimes with one light, sometimes with several. We'll use whatever's available: reflections, walls, daylight, maybe a background roll or a piece of foil that breaks the light just right.
We work with a model, but I will also put you in front of the lens from time to time. Not to pose, but to feel what light does. How it feels to sit in front of the camera. I think that's incredibly important to be able to make the right connection. We discuss everything we do out loud, so you learn from the process.

Technique and feeling
This one-on-one workshop is perfect for amateur photographers and pros who want to dive deeper into their portrait Photography. Whether you're just starting with flash or already have studio experience, we'll build on your knowledge and style.
We discuss settings, light modifiers, reflectors, and the use of continuous light or flash. But we also talk about posture, connection, and calmness. About what makes a good portrait, and why a photo is moving.

What you can expect
We work together for four hours. During that time, we build one or more setups, discuss the images in between, and you learn to really understand light. Half of the time we work with a model, and the other half we use to observe, analyze, and try new things.
The focus is on insight. How do you take control? How do you play with light? How do you trust your own eye? Afterwards, you will go home with images, but above all with ideas. New ways of looking. Probably a renewed curiosity about portrait photography.

We take the time to really look at what you want to learn. That could be about light, direction, or how to bring depth and tranquility to your portraits. The best moment of such a session is that moment when the light is just right and the portrait comes to life.

You don't become a great portrait photographer overnight. You grow by doing, learning, chatting, and observing. This one-on-one workshop is a real investment in your journey as a photographer. For four hours, we'll work closely together in my studio in Wijchen. We'll have a quick chat beforehand via email or phone to make sure the session is tailored just for you, and during the workshop, we'll work with a model so you can put everything into practice right away.
This personal workshop costs €595, and that includes a model and a preliminary chat.
