Zurich feels like a city that maintains its tranquility; in the calm waters of the lake, in the clean lines of the architecture, and in the people who go about their day with attention.

Zurich is a city where silence is given space.

I would like to invite you to my photography workshop in Zurich this year! Immerse yourself in two days of (street) photography in the cosmopolitan city of Zurich!

Together with enthusiastic friends in the country itself, I have put together a workshop that takes you to the old town (the charming Niederdorf), the chic Bahnhofstrasse (the local Champs-Élysées), and many more local photography hotspots.

During the workshop, we will work together. I will show you how I would approach certain situations, how I try to anticipate what is coming, and how I incorporate light into my street photography. I will teach you to look at things differently, and of course, we will brainstorm fun photography projects that you can get started on today!

My workshops are for beginners and advanced photographers. Basic knowledge of your camera is required.

Itook a really fun and educational workshop with Michiel. He teaches you to look at the street scene differently. The workshop remains challenging throughout thanks to the various assignments. Highly recommended!

Zurich: a unique photographic experience

Do you love photography and want to take on a new challenge? Would you like to discover a city that will surprise and inspire you? Then my street photography workshop in Zurich is just the thing for you!

Zurich is a city with a rich history and a modern vibe, where you can find a mix of cultures, styles, and architecture. It is a city that challenges you to experiment, discover, and enjoy. It is a city that will never bore you. And we are going to discover that city together in this exciting street photography workshop.

During this workshop, you will not only see Zurich, but learn to read it. We will wander through quiet streets and busy squares, along waterways and straight lines, searching for moments that last only a brief instant. I will help you slow down, look more closely, and make choices about what to capture and how. This will create space for photos that not only show what Zurich looks like, but above all how Zurich feels.

Who is this workshop for?

The workshop lasts two days, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The pace is comfortable, and there is plenty of time to observe, experiment, and ask questions. Your skill level does not matter. Whether you are just starting out or have been taking photos for years, everyone is challenged at their own level here. All you need is a camera, any camera. A system camera, SLR, compact, or your phone. It's not about the device, but about how you look.

We work on composition, on reading light and shadow, on color, movement, and perspective. And on people. How to photograph someone without disturbing them, without tension, with respect and attention to the moment.

You learn mainly by doing. By observing how I work, how others work, and by going out into the streets yourself. During the course, you will be given assignments that will challenge your usual way of seeing things. They will give you focus and make you more aware of what is happening around you. This combination will change the way you see things and make your photos stronger and more personal. They will tell your story.

Zurich? Easy to travel around!

For Dutch participants: Zurich is really easy to reach by train. I travel first class for €75 one way. Second class is available from €50. So it's cheap and sustainable. Prices for hotels vary, but it is often a lot cheaper to stay on the outskirts of the city. Public transport is well organized with trams.

Sign up quickly, because places are limited. Don't miss this opportunity to improve and refine your photography skills and discover a unique city. I look forward to seeing you in Zurich! 📸
