Rotterdam is bij uitstek een stad voor straatfotografie. Na de verwoestingen van de Tweede Wereldoorlog heeft de stad een moderne uitstraling gekregen, waar vlagen van de oude stad een interessant, uniek stadsbeeld geven. De innovatieve gebouwen en indrukwekkende skyline bieden een dynamisch decor voor foto’s, dat je nergens anders in Nederland tegenkomt.
In Rotterdam gebeurt altijd iets. Je vindt er een mooie mix van mensen, culturen en activiteiten. Hierdoor leent het centrum van Rotterdam zich uitstekend om spontane en levendige straatfoto’s vast te leggen.
Onderstaande workshops zijn voor beginners en mensen die al vaker een camera in de hand hebben gehad. Ik weet zeker dat ik je anders kan leren kijken!

Workshop Straatfotografie in Rotterdam
We starten de workshop bijvoorbeeld bij Blaak, bij de grote voet naast de foodhal en wandelen al fotograferend via de winkelstraten naar het station. Blaak is een levendig gebied vol contrasten. Hier staan de iconische Kubuswoningen, met hun opvallende gele kleuren en hoekige vormen. Op straat zie je toeristen met camera’s en studenten op de fiets. De mix van modern en traditioneel maakt dit een fotogenieke plek.
De Koopgoot, onder de drukke winkelstraten, is altijd in beweging. Je ziet er mensen met volle tassen, winkelend of haastig onderweg. Het open karaktervan de straat laat licht binnenstromen, wat zorgt voor interessante schaduwen en reflecties. We vervolgen de workshops naar het gebied rond de Lijnbaan. Dit is een levendige voetgangerszone. Hier komen locals en bezoekers samen, zittend op bankjes of slenterend langs de winkels. De moderne gebouwen en drukke straten bieden talloze mogelijkheden voor dynamische foto’s.

Focus on techniques before lunch, and on creating a series after lunch.

This street photography workshop runs from 10:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. (3.5 hours).

Recommended camera: Any camera, preferably with a prime lens.
Recommended lens: Generally, use any lens you're comfortable with, but a good guideline is 28 to 50mm full-frame.
You can do the post-processing yourself at home, as you see fit. I’d be happy to provide feedback on 5 photos via email at feedback .
