A good portrait touches. Sometimes it is a look, a pose, a certain stillness in someone's face. Sometimes it is simply: you. Exactly as you are. In my studio, I make black-and-white portraits with attention. No rush, no poses that don't suit you, but a portrait in which you are central. Without embellishment. Sometimes smiling, sometimes pensive. But always real.
Black-and-white portraits are timeless. They strip away distractions and bring you back to the core. This makes them intense, vulnerable and often surprising. Of course, a portrait in colour is also possible, but I always start in black and white. Because that brings you into focus. Because it requires daring.
For entrepreneurs, models and photographers
Are you an entrepreneur and want a powerful, authentic portrait for your website or LinkedIn? Or a model and looking for a series of images in which you don't have to play but can just be? Maybe you are a photographer yourself and want to discover what it is like to be in front of the camera. My studio is open to anyone who wants to show themselves. Literally.
We start with a cup of coffee and a conversation. No interview, no in-depth questions - just landing. Just getting used to it. Then we photograph for about an hour. Quietly and with space to try, laugh, be quiet. I carefully edit the photos, and you receive ten - carefully chosen and finished.
A portrait with attention
My portraits are not quick snapshots. We create the portrait together. This creates something real, something from both of us. I work with flash in the studio, or use natural light - depending on what suits you best. The style? Moody black and white, cheerful where possible. Comfortable and accessible. No stiff stuff.
As Edward Weston once said: "A portrait is not made in the camera but on either side of it." That's exactly how I see it. We make a good portrait together.
Practical: what you get
A studio session costs 375 euros excluding VAT. For that, you get:
- an introduction over coffee (about 30 minutes)
- one hour of photography in my studio or at your location
- 10 carefully selected and edited images (in high resolution)
And yes, sometimes I also work on a TFP basis (Time For Portfolio). That means you have no costs and I may use the photos for my portfolio or a project. I only do this if there is a clear click or artistic match. Interested? Let me know what you have in mind.
