Many people think you need someone to go on a workshop with. Someone to connect with, to move with, to share with. But honestly? Coming alone is one of the best choices you can make.
When you are alone, space is created in your mind. You see more quickly what you think is important. You don't have to consult or follow anyone. You choose. You look. You lead the way, instead of accidentally walking with someone who wants to make a different story.

During a street photography workshop works great. You look for what touches you. Maybe a quiet scene against the side of a church. Maybe a colourful scene at an underground entrance. You feel it, and you move towards it. No distractions.
And yet: you are never really alone. We are in a group, we talk, we share, we laugh. You get to know people who share the same passion as you. I see it every time: the first time coffee is a bit of a test run, and before you know it you're showing photos to each other with huge smiles.
This was the first weekend in years that I really did something for myself
A participant who Paris visited alone, said at the end:
"This was the first weekend in years that I really did something for myself."
That is not a by-catch. That's profit.
There is something beautiful about the moments when you walk alone into a street while everyone else is taking a picture somewhere else. You choose a different angle, and that's where it happens. The city gives you something no one else has seen. And with that, your series becomes personal. Something only you could capture, because only you were standing there.
Sometimes people get stuck at home thinking that you need permission for fun or adventure. That you have to have someone to go with you for it to be "okay". But you just get to choose for yourself. For growth. For fun. For those two days where you feel again what it means to be creative.
And if you decide you want to take this step, I will be right beside you. Literally. I walk with you, I watch with you, I help you dare.
So if you have doubts because you are alone: that is exactly the sign you should go.
You are going to be surprised by yourself. I dare you to promise that.
