Guards - Paris (2025)
One of my favourite places in Paris is Père Lachaise cemetery. Tucked away on the east side, in the 20th arrondissement, is a village of quiet people, with famous residents like Edith Piaf and Jim Morrisson. I do not hesitate to shed a tear as La Vie en Rose plays softly, while tourists rush to the next grave with a star map.
The sky was not even very threatening, and the rain soft. I saw her taking shelter under the canopy and thought, "You keep watch". With bowed head, she seemed to nod. Until next time, Michiel. Until next time.
